Intel will have a booth in the Screen Burn Arcade exhibit hall – Swing by for an opportunity to learn more about Intel AppUp for Ultrabook devices. We’re also the presenting sponsor for the Game Developer Lounge Mar. 9-11 and the Game Developer Mixer Mar. 10.
Several Intel team members will participate in speaking opportunities throughout SXSW Interactive:
- On Mar. 9 from 5-6 p.m. at the Austin Hilton Downtown (Salon J), Director of Future Casting Brian David Johnson will deliver a presentation titled, “Where Do Science Fiction and Science Fact Meet?” What kind of future do you want to live in? What excites or concerns you about the future? Intel Futurist Brian David Johnson poses these questions as part of The Tomorrow Project, an initiative to investigate not only the future of computing but also broader implications on our lives and the planet.
- Intel Social Media Strategist Ekaterina Walter will participate as a “Tech Superwomen” panelist on Mar. 10 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Austin Convention Center (Room 9ABC). From the New York Times to Glamour Magazine, a universal question continues to percolate – why are women underrepresented in the tech industry? Explore the role mentorship plays in building a stronger and more inclusive community, while expanding opportunities for women to ascend to leadership roles.
- U.S. Shopper Marketing Manager Alejandra Carvallo will participate in the “Big Brands and You” panel from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Mar. 12 at the Sheraton Austin (Capitol View North). Brands want a piece of the social media pie. Content creators want to make money without compromising their voice and audience. The Rolling Stones once said you can’t always get what you want. But they were wrong. Many brands and content creators collaborate in ways that bring value to their shared audiences. It just takes a little care, and a lot of trust.
This past week, Intel sponsored a 3-day DJ battle on Turntable.fm. The winning DJ earned an Ultrabook inspired by Intel and will now DJ live at the Turntable.fm event at SXSW on Mar. 10.
To close out our presence at SXSW 2012, Intel will sponsor the third annual MOG at The Mohawk music event Mar. 17 with headline act The Roots. The event will be streamed live on MOG.com so be sure to tune in to view exclusive pre-show coverage and interviews as well as video montages of bands performing their interpretation of the Intel sound mark.
