Designer Tools of the Trade
Choosing design as a career automatically qualifies you for a lifelong commitment to creating beauty and function. And as much talent and creativity is required in this job, there are lots of helpful tools and gadgets out there that make the creative process easier. Independent designers also have the responsibility of keeping connected with clients, managing social media and marketing, and networking, most of which is done via the Internet these days. I was curious to find out how three designers who run their own business manage to keep all the balls in the air and still have time to be creative. How do they do it all? (Hint: the answer is technology!)
Designers Jessica Rosenkrantz and Jesse Louis-Rosenberg from Nervous System, husband and wife team Erin and Tim Cooper of COOPERHOUSE, and interior designer Lisa Ferguson of Lisa Ferguson Interior Design and DecorMentor.com share how they use technology to make their jobs easier and what kind of innovations they see (or would like to see) in the next 10-30 years.
